History of "The Jackal"

Multi-Disciplinary Rapid Prototyping fabrication, including 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, Vacu-Formed plastics, Airbrushed paint application, digital illustration, and Large-Format inkjet prints.

Presented here is my Undergraduate thesis exhibit, sub-titled "A History of The Jackal." All works and items used for display were fabricated by myself.

My concept was to present a farcical history of a Saturday morning cartoon villain named The Jackal and all of the toys and pop culture ephemera that would have been associated with him from the late 1970's through present day. By incorporating the character with other pop icons like He-Man and The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Jackal is given a historical context by association. The show was presented using both standard art gallery and museological practices in an effort to legitimize the objects as something historically relevant.

As a fly-on-the-wall, I heard many viewers ask "Where is this student's work?" a comment which I've taken to be a compliment to the success of the ruse.
