Plaster Gauze face mask, Pressed Sand mold, Molten Glass, Steam.
Cloud Descending is a self portrait that explores the physical sensation of depression presenting itself without warning - as a cloud descending on the mind, and the weight that comes with it.
This piece was created during my residence at The Oxbow School of Art & Artist Residency in summer, 2013. Cloud Descending originates from one of several plaster face castings that took during that time. It stands as a relic of the storms which hung overhead at that time, which have long since subsided.
